As of late, my facial expressions have been in the style of "hurry up & snap these damn pictures so I can go inside because body parts are going to start to freeze & fall off".. not an attractive look. Despite the fact that ~~being bullshited by~~ working with the people at AX was probably the worst experience I've had with a blog collaboration to date, this dress is actually really pretty. & I would totally recommend it if you don't mind waiting over 2 months for shipping. These shots don't even do it justice. The sleeves are probably the best part but there was no way in hell I was going outside sans outerwear of some sort. So you'll just have to wait until spring to see more detail on it.

Straight hair, ya'll! Courtesy of my new Hana flat iron sent over by Misikko. It's obviously a magical piece of equipment because it took the crazy, messy mop that usually resides on my head & turned it into straight, shiny locks. In 12 minutes no less (compared to 25 with my old flat iron). Seriously. Magic. I felt like Marcia effing Brady this morning -- brushing it 100 strokes. I typically can't even get a brush the whole way through my hair when I try. Don't worry though, I won't permanently abandon my rat-nest look.

Let me introduce you guys to the most bad-ass metallic knit, cropped sweater. There's something about sparkly shiz that I just can't pass up. Off topic, but among the billion other reasons on the list of "why winter sucks", not wearing as much arm & finger jewelry is way up there. Coats & gloves always get in the way. Efffff. & speaking of jewelry, while I was browsing the interwebz for new nose rings the other night I came across some sweet silver ear cuffs & toe rings. Do people still wear toe rings & ear cuffs? If they don't, they should. So 90's. I remember wearing both on the boardwalk at the beach as a kid. Come summer, toe rings will definitely be gracing my feet again.

I was going to write something about clothes & what I'm wearing but I thought I'd share a story instead. Once whilst shit-faced, my friend & I were about to hop a cab home but realized we had to pee real bad. We ran inside this hotel & on the way out, we passed a big convention room that looked like it had a pretty crazy party going on.. people dancing, a dj.. a wedding maybe? After deciding to crash, we went in clearly trashed, & jumped up on a table & started to dance. Everyone (200+ people) literally stopped & starred. What was wrong with these people? It was a party.. wasn't it? No. It wasn't a party. It was a mother effing Narcotics Anonymous convention. WHAT. THE. HELL. I crashed an NA convention. There's really no point to this story. I'm just convinced my life is one awkward string of events.

Can we just talk for a minute about how completely ridiculous this weather is right now? Snow, hail, & rain while I was in NY last week (talk about inconvenient.. I packed so terribly & ended up wearing nothing but docs, pants, beanies & a billion layers the whole time) & now 60 & sunny? WHAT IS THIS? I'm taking this as an opportunity to wear these pants one more time before I put them away for the winter. To be fair, it was actually a bit chilly even today to wear them, but I really didn't go anywhere so whatever.

Remember when my neighbor's ex-boyfriend threatened to shoot me for taking photos in "his" field? Well, now I'm going to take them on the side of the road 2 steps in front of the field.. suck on that, dick-head. Actually, seconds after that whole incident I marched over to the neighbor's house & told her to keep her man on a leash.. she was like "uhh, he doesn't even live here.. he's crazy. IDGAF if you take pictures over there". The grass is way too high though so this works just fine.

How about these SANDALS?! They're not an illusion. I only own 2 pairs.. I'm just not a fan really. Feet freak me out. Plus I'm only 5'6", desperately trying to be 5'10", & need all the help with height I can get.

Love these shoes, hate that they're a size too small. Hate that wholesale-dress.net has fucked up every order I've ever placed with them. Like sending me these shoes in a size smaller than I ordered because they were out of the size I actually ordered so they just assumed sending me a size smaller would be okay? No, it's not okay. My little (big) feet are squished. & then they refused to refund me because they don't "do" refunds. That's a whole lotta BS.

The most commonly asked question I get is "girllllllll, how you do your hair like that?", to which I usually ignore the question completely or sometimes reply "I don't do anything". You people don't seem to take those responses so here's a step by step of my process & "secrets":

I wash my hair at night. Mainly because I'm not a morning person & I like to wake up & do as little as possible. But also because I don't use a hair dryer & just let it air dry. So I go to bed with it wet & wake up with some sessiii bed head.
I unknowingly let my hair stylist perm my hair last fall. I said I wanted to look like an Olsen twin (talking about color) & totally walked outta there with a full on beach wave perm. LOVED IT. But, perms are expensive & I'm cheap. To get the same beach wave look, make a sea salt water mixture (boil water & mix in sea salt then put it in a spray bottle) & spray it on your hair after you wash & comb it out. It works the same as Bumble & Bumble spray but doesn't cost you anything. Then just take your hands & do a little scrunch action & again, let it air dry. Make sure you use SEA SALT.. regular table salt obviously won't work the same.
When I wake up in the morning I sometimes spray a tiny bit of Tresemme shine spray onto my ends. Just because.
The only part of my hair I actually spend more than 30 seconds on, are my bangs, which I just straighten.
I suppose my only "secret" is that I don't wash my hair often. Gross? Probably. I maybe wash it twice a week & then it's dry shampoo all the way. Before Suave started making an affordable dry shampoo, I used Oscar Blandi, which I still love because it doesn't leave behind any residue whereas Suave leaves a tiny bit of white residue but for 1/4 of the price.. Suave it is. Also, baby powder works just the same.
Oh, & my old ombre was not purposeful. Just me being too lazy to dye my roots to the point where they got so bad it became trendy.

That seems like a whole lot of writing for 3 minutes of actual hair care. So.. sea salt, air dry, shine spray, dirty hair.

Man, when it rains it sure pours. After jacking up my finger, I came down with the gnarliest cold & sore throat last week. Then to throw some salt in the wound, my computer broke.. whatttttt. But now I'm good to go for the most part. Easy peasy outfit for an easy peasy day. I've spent the last week in pj's on the couch under a blanket clutching the kleenex box & day tripping on Nyquil. So. Pathetic. I realized September, one of my favorite months, is half way over already & I've spent most of it inside nursing my ailments. Please excuse me for wearing the same shoes 2 posts in a row.. we're still indulging in our honeymoon phase. So Taylor was tweeting last week about how statements that begin with "real women..." are mega lame (such as "real women are modest"), & I totally concur. I think the statement "I'm classy, not trashy" is equally lame.. because if you have to tell people you're classy, you more than likely aren't. I once almost killed a girl with my bare hands & the next day she called me to let me know she'd "do me a favor" by not pressing charges. She went on to tell me she was classy, not trashy like me, & would never fight anyone. It totally cleared things up for me. I mean there I was, trashy hood rat. & there she was, classy carol.. doing what? OH YEAH, screwing my boyfriend. The definition of true class. If I would've been wearing heels instead of wedges, I would have snapped my heel off & stabbed her with it.

Moral of the story: I love this fringy jacket of gold sparkly goodness. I love Rock Paper Vintage. I'm bat shit crazy.

So.. I caved in & bought another pair of Litas. No will power here. Will power is for losers. Compulsive shopping's where it's at.. everybody's doing it. So pissed though that when I took them out of the box BEFORE I EVEN PUT THEM ON one of the little gold trimmings fell off. Ugh. I'm going to try & super glue it back on though. Super glue always works right? While in college, I was walking to class one day to give a presentation & half way there my heel totally snapped off. Talk about embarrassing. Luckily this one chick in my class wore crazy long fake nails & always carried super glue with her in case they came off so she was like all "shiiiiiiiit girl, I got you." & voila, my heel was temporarily fixed. Anyway, how about this jumpsuit? It's the perfect end-of-summer piece & will be great to transition into fall with by throwing on a big chunky knit sweater. All of my younger cousins ended up married with multiple kids & my mom jokingly told me I looked like an old maid. Then a great aunt or something came up to me & instead of saying "Hello, I haven't seen you in 6 years, how are you?" this is how our conversation went:

"No."
"Oh. Well are you getting married?"
"No."

"I don't want kids, just cats."
"That's nice."
An hour later..

"Well there's a lot of single men here! (pointing to the 16-18 year old boys)"

I have about a million & 1 army green jackets but this new addition from Shop The Far Out is by far my favorite. Every time I walk into a thrift store I always hope I'll find a rugged jacket exactly like this baby but with no luck. Ever. So I'm super psyched to have this little piece of army green goodness added to my collection.

On another note, some of my all time favorite vintage stores (Rock Paper Vintage, Wicked Plum Vintage, Twitch Vintage, Thrifted, etc.) have started The Vintage Coalition, an online pop-up shop. Every week will be a new theme & each vintage seller will put up one item for sell. I bought this shirt awhile ago & was so bummed when the package came & they sent me the wrong color. I ordered a neutral version (obvy) & was totally like "..da fuck?" when they sent me this bright colored thing. After staring at it in my closet/flipping it the bird for a few months I decided to finally throw it on & it turned out to not be terrible & actually a good way to help me transition into wearing a bit of color for once. Total color blocking for dummies with one single shirt.

I woke up to gross, rainy & cold weather this morning hence the black tights & Docs. Let's talk about this pretty little floral dress though. It was sent over to me in a box of stuff from Club Couture. I'm obsessed with it. My favorite part is the cut out back.. I've been looking for something like this for awhile. It's pretty short on me though to wear it without something underneath (I have a long torso), so on warmer days I'll probably pair it with a cute pair of lace bike shorts. Miu Miu really hit the nail on the head with their cartoon kitty prints & I've never been so excited about purchasing blatant knockoffs before. Anyway, if you follow me on twitter HERE then you already know that they were filming a few scenes from the movie "The Perks of Being a Wallflower" at one of my dad's restaurants this past weekend which was totally exciting because I love the book. They asked me if I wanted to be an extra last week which I agreed to mainly just because I wanted to creep on Emma Watson (I'm a huge Harry Potter dork). Then I went from being an extra to playing a waitress & I was totally in every scene they shot so hopefully you get to see my mug at least once in the movie which would be way sweeeet. Before we began shooting/before I was changed into my outfit though, I seriously had 2 different people come up to me & be like, "you're costume looks really nice" & I was all like "uhh, these are my real clothes". The book/movie takes place in the 90's so apparently my high-waisted cut-off Levi's, flannel shirt, & Doc Marten's fit right in. I was also told I didn't need to wear panty hose because my legs were already white enough. & then the lady doing hair just looked at me & was like "you're going to need a lot of work".. it was a day of real confidence boosting LOLz.

It's been raining cats & ma effin' dogs outside this whole week so I had to get a little creative & shoot inside. I typically hate inside pictures because they totally can't compete with the natural light outside but my creepy little basement worked out pretty okay (Dolce even made a quick cameo too). Onto my outfit.. I got these gorgeous lace shorts courtesy of Lulu's & Chictopia & their "chic rewards" program. Happy birthday to meeeeee! & happy mother's day to my mom! Clearly birthing me 23 years ago on mother's day was the best mother's day present she's ever gotten... I kid I kid. My birthday doesn't always fall on mother's day but when it used to when I was a kid/smart ass teenager I HATED it. I always felt like the bitch was trying to steal my thunder. But I'm really glad it fell on mother's day this year because this was probably one of the best birthdays I've ever had just spending the day with my whole entire family.. especially my mom.

I love that I look like a deer caught in headlights in basically every picture I take. Except that's total sarcasm & I don't actually love it. What I do love? This sweet watch sent over to me from TIKKR. I hate that I'm always such a neutral nancy but I have the absolute hardest time integrating color into my outfits. I'm taking baby steps though by trying to add little pops either in my nail polish or lipstick or accessories & these watches totally enable me to do that. So I've been in a total funk the past few days. It happens literally every time I come home from NY. It's just some shit because I know I need to be living there & I just need to make it happen but it's so hard to just pick up & move to a different city & have to find a new apartment & a new job & start a new life. I think for the past 8 months now that I've been living with my parents I've fallen into a hole of comfort & easy livin'. & I've been waiting for some sort of fairy god mother to come swoop me away & give me my dream job because when you're 23 with a bachelor's degree (& 75 effing thousand in debt due to getting said degree) life is supposed to be sorted out right? Ew, easier fucking said than done. That was just me thinking out loud.. sorry for THE longest post ever.

Sometimes I feel like blog photos taken in fields or woods or the middle of the desert can come out looking completely corny & unrealistic, but I for real live right across the street from this field justtt in case you were wondering. & sometimes when it's nice out & the wind is blowing the perfect amount a girl just needs to prance around in a field. Just wanted to write a quick post to fill you guys in on everything that's going on. In my last post I told you guys I wasn't feeling too great & literally 5 minutes after I posted I got this sharp shooting pain in my left side & found myself on my bathroom floor curled up into a fetal position screaming & crying. I went to the ER & they ran a bunch of tests on me & finally found that I have a kidney stone (f'realz? I thought you had to be old to get them!). So blah blah blah.. I'm taking a lot of pain killers (win) & I'm fine & junk but it hurts like a little bitch. I'll be back to regular posting in a few days when this shiz passes & I promise I'll respond to everyone's e-mails when I'm less loopy too.. I'm so behind!

By the way, did anyone else take advantage of American Apparel's crazy sale on April Fools Day? It was buy 1 item, get 5 free! I ended up with 4 of their t-shirt bras & 2 pairs of satin shorts that I've totally been eying up for awhile now all for under $20. It's that time of year where people begin to break out the shorts without tights & everyone's all like "omg I'm SO pale, I need a tan". Friends & family have always joked that they feel instantly tan just by standing next to me because I'm so effing white. My dad says my legs blind his eyes when I wear shorts. Once in highschool my friend was doing a portrait of our group of friends & her dad told her to use white chalk to draw me. Okay, ha-ha Stacey's white, we get it. A few nights ago The Rules of Attraction was on tv at like 2am & I fell in love with Shannyn Sossamon's character Lauren all over again. I immediately only wanted to wear maxi skirt's everyday for the rest of my life.

So while I was going through these pictures I was like all, "holy shit I look so mean". I get told a lot that I look super unapproachable because I never smile & always have a mean scowl on my face. I once worked with a guy that thought I gave him a dirty look & so then he made a dick comment to me & so then I was like, "hey, fuck off".. & it literally went back & forth for like, 6 months of us for real HATING each other all because he thought I gave him a dirty look. When it reality, there was no dirty look.. it's just how my face looks! Anyway this story really doesn't have a point..

Title cred goes to my sister who kept repeating it in the creepiest voice as we were taking these photos. Okay so this is the second shirt for the Society of LES giveaway. It's the perfect amount of distressed & I can't wait until it gets a tiny bit warmer & I can wear it without the granny sweater. I put this pretty dress on this morning hoping it would somehow part the clouds from the skies & let some sun shine down & lo & behold it did! I must be magic or something. By the way, the piece of string hanging off my arm in the one picture is a friendship bracelet my youngest brother made me. HOW CUTE.

As I was heading outside today to get a few outfit photos it immediately started raining but I was however able to salvage a few shots. This is one of the shirts sent over to me from Society of LES last week & I absolutely lovee all the cutout pieces their S/S line has to offer. I first heard of this brand a while back when two of my favorite bloggers, Arielle & Erika, showed off their SOL pieces on their blogs, & another favorite Tess just shot a lookbook with them last week.
