calm before the storm.

DIY skirt; Target men's t-shirt; vintage belt; Jeffrey Campbell "lita" shoes; H&M hat; c/o Wicked Plum Vintage double knuckle ring; Asos elephant bangle; vintage & handcrafted jewlery
Don't let the sunshine in these photos fool you, it was actually raining while we were taking these shots. & then literally within the hour the sky turned green & we had golf ball sized hail spewing from the sky & a tornado hit about 15 minutes away.. talk about some crazy weather.

This skirt was another little DIY & I'm actually really proud of my handy work here considering I'm the world's worst sewer (skills = non-existent). Remember the cropped vest I wore HERE? This skirt is actually the bottom half of that fugly dress. I took the zipper out of the back & put some elastic in the waist but then I was feeling a little sassy so I cut the bottom half of the skirt off & attached this sheer fabric & ta-da: 1 badass skirt. I kind of feel like ripping off my shirt like Kevin Gnapoor did after winning the Mathlete competition.. "Yeah! How do you like me now? You like that? Yeah! Get some, get some!".. Mean Girls anyone?

p.s. did you peep my new double knuckle ring sent over to me from Wicked Plum Vintage. I don't for-see this baby coming off my hand anytime in the near future.

  7. Wow, that double-knuckle ring is gorgeous! I'm seriously impressed by your DIY skirt, too, I just love the sheerness of it. (And since I also have exactly no sewing skills- seriously, I failed home ec. once- I'm encouraged by the fact that another non-sewer could make something so fabulous :D)

  18. Loooooooooooove that skirt. You can't be that bad of a sewer if you could make that. I am so impatient when it comes to sewing I could barely fix a tiny hole or a button. lol

  19. BADASS!!! I love the DIY skirt! I swear you should try to track down some old issues of Sassy magazine, that was like my bible back in high school in the mid 90s, and it would be right up your alley, they always had cool DIY tutorials in there.

Glad you like the ring hon, I am keeping my eye out for more stuff like that!

  21. Uh, yeah, major skirt win. NICE. Also, true story, I once left Coachella to drive to a nearby movie theatre to watch Mean Girls. I had already seen it twice; I just had a hankering.

  35. I've seen a lot of girls try to emulate this look but you certainly add your own to it with the bright lips. I like the Lita's paired with it too.
